To eliminate odors from commercial air conditioners, it's essential to clean the air conditioning system first. This includes cleaning the air intake ducts and the dust and grime on the evaporator box. Over time, uncleaned evaporators accumulate a lot of dust and fine hair, which require a brush to be thoroughly cleaned. It may be necessary to replace the air filter as well.
Next, choose a quality air conditioner cleaning agent. Insert the cleaning agent into the intake vent, close the air conditioner's exhaust vent, and allow the cleaning agent to circulate within the system for a few minutes. After turning off the air conditioner, some dust and bacteria will be expelled along with the cleaning agent through the lower drain port of the air conditioner.
To prevent condensation from forming during air conditioning use, experts note that after cleaning, the system may still emit a musty odor. This is due to the condensate within the air conditioning pipes creating a dark and damp environment, which is ideal for mold growth. The preventive measure is to turn off the air conditioning a few minutes before parking and then switch to natural wind. This raises the temperature inside the air conditioning pipes before parking, reducing the temperature difference with the outside and keeping the air conditioning system relatively dry.
