Ceramic plunger pumps are a type of reciprocating pump, classified as volumetric pumps. They are driven by the eccentric rotation of the pump shaft, creating reciprocating motion. Both the suction and discharge valves are one-way valves. When the plunger is pulled outward, the pressure inside the cylinder decreases, closing the discharge valve, and when it falls below the inlet pressure, the inlet valve opens, allowing fluid to enter. Conversely, when the plunger is pushed inward, the cylinder pressure rises, closing the inlet valve, and when it exceeds the discharge pressure, the discharge valve opens, expelling fluid. As the drive shaft rotates the cylinder, the inclined plate pulls the plunger out or pushes it back into the cylinder, completing the suction and discharge process.
