The underground water supply network, deeply buried beneath the city, is akin to its "veins." Due to reasons such as vehicle碾压, road subsidence, natural aging over long usage, and corrosion, leaks or bursts are inevitable.

Equipment for leak detection: listening rods, pipeline detectors, electronic listening leak detectors, related instruments, impact drills.

The listening rod is approximately 1.5 meters long, made of copper and steel. The top of the rod features a cylindrical cavity, which, when twisted open, houses a reed used to amplify sound. Pipeline detection equipment has been in use for the past 10 years, with the devices being imported from overseas. Generally, when underground pipeline information is incomplete, the pipeline detector can identify the direction of the pipes, followed by a thorough inspection using the listening rod. In addition to the traditional listening rod, there is now an electronic leak detection device. The leak detection personnel wear headphones to listen to the underground sounds, and the electronic device has an amplification function, enabling the detection of even tiny leak noises. Sensors installed on pipeline fire hydrants or valves can detect the leak noise signal, which is then amplified and transmitted wirelessly to the main unit. Here, consistency functions and related functions are calculated, and the correct leak point information is displayed on the LCD screen. The leak point is then confirmed by drilling with an impact drill.
