    Technical Description of Impulse Voltage Generator

    1  The synchronous ball gap is sealed within an insulated drum, equipped with observation windows at each ball gap level. A blower is used to blow filtered fresh air into the drum from the bottom, ensuring that the discharge ball gap remains unaffected by environmental dust and discharge particles, thereby guaranteeing stable and reliable discharge.

    2  Insulation and mechanical support between levels withstand200kVOperating impulse voltages110kVDirect current voltage without discharge.

    3  The mechanical support offers sufficient mechanical and electrical strength requirements.

    4  The unit features ample space and an insulated ladder for easy climbing. An insulated operation platform is set every three steps, facilitating necessary operation and maintenance. The design of the unit takes into account various working methods. With a special connecting rod, the unit can switch between series and parallel operation modes. Each level is equipped with a bracket for placing tuning resistors and connecting rods, capable of holding six resistors and four connecting rods.

    5  Preventive measures against corona discharge were implemented at all levels, reducing the corona effect during the charging process.

    6  The generator body is equipped with a safety grounding mechanism, which can be operated on the controller or locally. The grounding mechanism shorts the generator's main capacitor to the ground using a steel belt, ensuring there is no residual charge. The generator's charging circuit features an automatic grounding solenoid, which automatically grounds the solenoid mechanism upon stopping charging or pressing the emergency button, discharging the main capacitor through a grounding resistor. Both grounding mechanisms are interlocked with the control system, preventing any misoperations.

    2  Charging resistors have sufficient thermal capacity, ensuring continuous and long-term operation of the generator.

    3  The wavehead and wavetail resistors are constructed using a plate-shaped design, made with copper wire for non-inductive winding. They are externally vacuum cast with insulating resin, featuring spring-pressed terminals for easy installation.

The software package can be used in conjunction with peak voltage meters, oscilloscopes, and other measurement and waveform analysis equipment to achieve computerized measurement and control integration for impulse voltage testing systems.
