Chapter II: Instrument Introduction
2.1 Working Principle
This instrument is a high-tech product designed based on the reflection principle of electromagnetic waves during transmission and the principle of electromagnetic induction, integrating digital filtering, wireless reception, and software control.
Electromagnetic Induction: Its basic working principle is that the transmitter generates electrical and magnetic waves, which are then transmitted to the underground pipeline through various transmission connections. Once the pipeline detects the electromagnetic waves, an induced current is generated on the cable surface. This induced current propagates along the metal cable. During its propagation, the current also radiates electromagnetic waves back towards the ground through the cable. When the underground pipeline testing instrument's receiver detects the electromagnetic wave signal on the ground, it receives the signal directly above the underground pipeline. The variations in the received signal strength can then be used to determine the location and direction of the underground pipeline.
