Usage Instructions
Notice:
● Ensure the tested product is securely grounded and the sample is electrically neutral.
● Confirm that the E-end (grounding end) of the meter is grounded.
After pressing the high-voltage switch button, the meter's E and L terminals output high voltage.
Please note safety!
● Test complete, please promptly shut down high voltage and work power.
Zero Calibration
Set the selector switch to the [OFF] position and adjust the mechanical zero adjustment knob to calibrate the instrument pointer to the "∞" scale line on the scale.
Battery Inspection and Replacement
Select the switch to the [BATT.CHECK] position. If the needle points to the scale with an arrow in the lower right area of the gauge marked [BATT.GOOD], the battery is normal; otherwise, a battery replacement is required.
3 Test
Connect the E terminal of the meter to the ground terminal (or one end) of the test sample, and the L terminal to the line terminal (or the other end) of the test sample. Set the selection switch to the required rated voltage position. The power indicator light at the upper left corner of the meter dial illuminates, indicating that the working power is connected. Press the high voltage switch button, and the high voltage indicator light illuminates, with the needle indicating the insulation resistance value of the test item at the corresponding test voltage scale.
The Use of the G-Ring (Protection Ring)
When measuring high insulation resistance values, a conductive protective ring should be placed on the surface between the two measurement ends of the sample. Connect this conductive protective ring to the instrument's G terminal with a test wire to eliminate measurement errors caused by leakage current on the sample surface, ensuring accurate testing.
Shut Down
Upon completion of the reading, first press the high-voltage switch button to turn off the high voltage, which will extinguish the red high-voltage indicator light. Then, switch the selector to the [OFF] position to disconnect the power. For capacitive loads, ensure to discharge any residual charge on the test item before removing the test wires to prevent electrical shock injuries.
6 AC Voltage Measurement
The test line is connected to E and L terminals, and the selector switch is set to the [OFF AC.V] position, allowing it to be used as an AC voltage meter.
