The composition of cement tiles:
Cement tiles are made from silicate cement, yellow sand, water, and paint. A protective membrane of acrylic is uniformly coated on the outer layer for sealing.
How to Manufacture Cement Tiles:
To ensure material consistency, the raw materials are properly mixed. Then, each tile is cut from the extruded material through molds under high pressure, leaving钉holes in place. This makes each cement tile function as an insulator and moisture barrier once it leaves the mold. Before leaving the factory, the cement tiles are left to cure for several days. Every step of the production process is conducted under the supervision of advanced machinery and professional staff.
Three: Appropriate pitch for cement flat tile roof: *Small slope
A slope of 3:12 (17°) is required. This means that for steep roofs greater than 17°, a row of sealed drainage tiles must be installed beneath the cement flat tiles, with the cement flat tiles primarily serving a decorative purpose.
Section III: Lifespan of Cement Tiles
ACME roofing systems can assure you that our tiles have a lifespan of up to 50 years or more. However, we have witnessed German cement tile roofs that have protected the roof structure for an incredible 150 years.
Can I walk on my rooftop?
Absolutely, but be cautious. Walking on any sloping rooftop is extremely dangerous. If you need to clean windows or install landscape lighting on your roof, please stand at one-third of the way up and keep your center of gravity close to the roof. Avoid stepping on cut edges or the joints of the ridge tiles and the gable ends. Most professionals know that if they need to install shingles or clean chimneys and have to stay on the roof for an extended period, they will place a board to distribute the weight of people and some tools.
What situations lead to tile damage, and why are tile corners prone to breakage at times?
Shingles are commonly damaged during severe snowstorms. Sometimes, people walk roughly on rooftops, or shingles may be laid too closely together (we advocate for some space between them), and areas where the house settles can also lead to shingle damage.
Will my roof leak if I find a broken tile on my roof, as we approach the rainy season?
Typically, there are many roofing waterproofing materials (tar paper) that provide adequate protection. However, damaged shingles should be replaced as soon as possible to ensure rainwater stays on the roof and to protect the tar paper from being baked by the sun.
What's the difference between solid tiles and coated tiles? Is it important for tiles to be solid all over?
Monolithic tiles and coated tiles are identical in performance. Coated tiles have a high-gloss surface, whereas monolithic tiles have an uneven texture. However, since the coloring on the tiles is formed by pressing cement adhesive, coated tiles are not recommended for use in areas with severe snow and ice.
How does the cement tile roof fare against wind resistance?
The weight of the tiles themselves, combined with the individual wind clips installed, is sufficient to withstand wind speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour. In areas with higher wind speeds, a special method of fixing the tiles is employed to withstand wind speeds of up to 140 kilometers per hour.
