Hairs refer to the fibers that extend from the main yarn or curl up from the yarn surface. Hairs are caused by a combination of factors related to the movement of fibers during the production process. The causes of hair include broken ends and excessively curled fibers in raw cotton. They form due to the irregular movement of fibers caused by the irregular arrangement of fibers and the irregular interaction forces during the extension process.
The main generation of MaoYu occurs in the front clamp triangle area between the fine yarn floating zone and the twist limit point, it grows due to channel friction after yarn formation, with the key increase being the tension friction during winding. The morphology varies, and so does the pattern of its appearance.
The feather fibers extend from the yarn matrix in different shapes, categorizing into three types: end feather fibers, loop feather fibers, and floating feather fibers.
End crimp: The end of the fiber extends beyond the surface of the yarn, while the rest is wrapped inside the yarn core. A significant proportion of these crimps are less than 4mm in length, mainly caused by short fibers, especially the harmful ones that are over 3mm long are mostly end crimps.
②Looped fibers: Both ends of the fibers are wrapped into the yarn core, with the middle part extending above the yarn surface. This type of fiber is mainly caused by the long fibers being wrapped around the yarn core during movement. After friction, looped fibers often form 8mm to 9mm in length. Particularly after the winding process, the increase in 9mm long fiber length is closely related to the number of looped fibers.
③ Floating Fibers: Loosely attached fibers on the surface of the yarn. These fibers are often caused by impurities in the yarn and result in shedding due to intense friction during the post-processing stage.
