The fixing process is achieved through the interaction of the fixative with the fiber in the medium and the cationic groups forming salts with the dye anions, thereby fixing the dye. Excellent formaldehyde-free dye fixatives can enhance the wet rub fastness of reactive dye dyed fabrics by 0.5 to 1 grade.
