Polyester yarn refers to yarns spun from polyester, a type of polymer fiber produced through spinning.
The fiber produced from ethylene glycol dibenzoate is commonly referred to as "PET" fiber, which is an abbreviation for "polyethylene terephthalate," the English name of its raw material. In China, it is colloquially known as Dacron.
Pure polyester yarn is spun from polyester short fibers, which come in different categories. By length, there are cotton-type fibers, around 37 millimeters long, medium to long fibers, 51 to 57 millimeters long, and wool-type fibers, 75 to 105 millimeters long.
