Also known as Asian cotton, it refers to various species of cotton, including medium cotton and jute cotton, characterized by coarse and short fibers with high elasticity. This type of cotton fiber, due to its short length, coarse texture, and white or pale white color with minimal luster, has lower utility value and unit yield. It has been largely phased out domestically and there is no product cotton production in the world.Fine cotton (common cotton)Landrace cotton, also known as upland cotton, refers to varieties with medium-fine cotton fibers and length, featuring a clean white or milky white color with a lustrous sheen, capable of preventing yarns finer than 11~100 tex (60~6 Ne) from breaking. Fine cotton accounts for 85% of the world's total cotton production and remains the primary cultivated cotton variety in our country at present.Long-staple cotton (high-grade cotton)Also known as Sea Island cotton, it refers to various types of Sea Island cotton and crossbreeds between sea and land cotton, characterized by long, fine, and soft fibers, with a creamy white or light yellow hue, rich in luster, and of excellent quality. It is the raw material for producing cotton yarn with a count below 10 tex. The main countries producing long-staple cotton include Egypt, Sudan, the United States, Morocco, Central Asian countries, and others. In China, the primary production areas for long-staple cotton are in Xinjiang and other regions.
