Types of Silk Cotton

According to the different silk objects, mercerized cotton is generally divided into yarn mercerization, fabric mercerization, and double mercerization.

Yarn Silk: A special type of cotton yarn that, under tension, is treated with high-concentration caustic soda or liquid ammonia, resulting in a luster similar to silk while retaining the original properties of cotton.

Texturizing: Refers to the process of cotton fabric being treated with high-concentration caustic soda or liquid ammonia under tension, resulting in a fabric with enhanced luster, crispness, and better shape retention.

Double Silk: Refers to fabric woven from cotton yarns that have been subjected to mercerization, followed by a second mercerization process. This results in the cotton fibers undergoing a full, irreversible swelling in a concentrated alkali solution, leading to a smooth, silk-like luster on the fabric surface. Additionally, the treated fabric exhibits improved strength, resistance to pilling, and dimensional stability.
