Advantages of Phenolic Fiber:
Flame Retardancy: The high flame retardancy level of LOI 34 surpasses Aramid's LOI 29. The phenolic fiber composition is identical to cotton, free of toxic elements like nitrogen, phosphorus, sulfur, and halogens. It exhibits flame retardancy, directly carbonizes in flame environments without producing toxic smoke, and does not melt and drip to cause secondary injury.
Thermal Resistance: Can be used for long-term use at temperatures ranging from 150-180 degrees Celsius. Quality loss occurs at 200°C in air, and at 250-300°C in nitrogen.
Thermal Insulation: Low thermal conductivity, offering excellent thermal and insulation properties.
Low-temperature performance: Good dimensional stability at low temperatures.
Chemical Resistance: Stable chemical properties, resistant to acids, alkalis, and industrial bleaches, and not soluble in the majority of organic solvents.
Other features: Excellent electrical insulation properties, with insulation resistance reaching 1000 megohms per millimeter, good sound absorption and noise insulation, soft phenolic fiber, and wool-like texture.
Phenolic fiber drawbacks: The mainstream phenolic fiber currently on the market is produced by the Groupo Showa from Japan, featuring a complex production process and high manufacturing costs. Imported prices are steep in China, resulting in limited usage domestically.
