Cotton knitted fabrics can shrink in three aspects: fiber shrinkage, yarn shrinkage, and fabric (loop) shrinkage, all of which are related to the fabric's tensile stress. Therefore, anti-shrinkage methods and technologies can be approached through the following four avenues:

Minimize the tensile force applied to cotton knitted fabrics during wet processing as much as possible.

b. Prior to bleaching and dyeing, perform a relaxation wet treatment on the grey fabric to allow the fabric to shrink and become denser.

c. Silk finish processing

After bleaching, dyeing, and printing, the fabric is treated with a shrink-resistant technique involving forced shrinkage.
