Antibacterial and Deodorizing: Since towel products are often dampened and stored in relatively humid environments, microorganisms can multiply rapidly, potentially causing the towels to emit odors and cause itching to the users. Therefore, towels require higher standards and are usually treated with antibacterial and deodorizing chemicals. The general approach is to use finishing agents with bactericidal properties to impart antibacterial characteristics. In recent years, Japan has conducted significant research on natural antibacterial finishing agents, such as using extracts of aloe vera, mugwort, and other essential oils with bactericidal properties. These extracts are encapsulated in porous organic microcapsules or porous ceramic powders and attached to the fabric, then cross-linked and fixed with resins. The bactericides are released slowly through mechanical actions like friction and compression, achieving durable antibacterial finishing. However, due to the limitations of current antibacterial fixing technology, the wash resistance of the antibacterial agents is not ideal, and their antibacterial properties decrease with each wash, usually disappearing after about ten washes.
