Single yarn slubs refer to a phenomenon where one or more horizontal rows of loops on the surface of the fabric are larger or smaller, or uneven in density compared to other horizontal rows. In real production, slubs caused by raw materials are quite common.

Reasons for Occurrence: a. Poor yarn quality, such as color discrepancies in single filaments, including tight twisted yarns, fibers of different batch numbers, uncolored long fibers, or mixing yarns of different counts, directly leads to the formation of horizontal stripes in the single filaments.

b. Significant differences in the size of the yarn cones or the presence of bulges and collapsed edges on the silk cakes can lead to uneven tension during unwinding, easily causing horizontal streaks in the yarn. This is due to the varying sizes of the cones affecting their winding points and the diameter of the unwinding air circles, which in turn results in considerable differences in the tension relaxation patterns. During the weaving process, when tension differences reach a high value, it can lead to inconsistent yarn feed amounts, thereby causing unevenness in the size of the loops.

During the processing with porous and ultra-fine denier materials, the yarn path should be as smooth as possible. Slight roughness or oil residue solidification in a guide hook can easily lead to the breakage of multiple single filaments of the material, resulting in color differences among the filaments. Compared to processing with conventional materials, it demands stricter equipment requirements and is more prone to produce cross stripes of single filaments in the fabric.

d. Improper machine adjustment, excessively deep or shallow needle triangle pressure, causing abnormal yarn tension, resulting in inconsistent coil size variations.
