Factors Causing Cross Grain in Knitted Fabrics at the Dyeing and Finishing Factory
(1) Poor state of dyeing and finishing equipment, such as eccentric and bent roller shafts, poor roundness, and defective screen sets on printing machines, can lead to horizontal streaks on the fabric surface.
(2) The transverse bars caused by dyeing and finishing plant shutdown, due to inattention during operation, extended downtime, and roller停滞 on the fabric surface, resulted in stains from the dye liquid. After the fabric surface was dried, the transverse bars became more pronounced.(3) Direct dyeing without proper pretreatment or improper pretreatment; unreasonable dyeing time, temperature, pressure, and ratio of dye chemicals; resulting in uneven fabric coloration.(4) The internal fibers of cotton yarn have hygroscopic properties, resulting in varying moisture regain rates. This leads to uneven dryness and wetness on the fabric surface, causing inconsistent dyeing and horizontal streaks with varying depths.(5) During the boiling process, water evaporation leads to insufficient moisture, causing the dyed fabric surface to expose dye outside in certain areas, resulting in uneven coloring. The spacing of the horizontal stripes on this fabric surface lacks a clear regularity.(6) During the post-treatment process, improper high-temperature sizing led to cross grain in the fabric, characterized by sizing marks. Cross grains on the fabric surface caused by dyeing and finishing factors typically disappear after fading.After dyeing and padding, uneven drying rates during pre-drying can cause varying degrees of dye migration, resulting in inconsistent dye distribution on the fabric surface.
