Air jet spinning and ring spinning are both textile technologies, but one is a new technique while the other is an older one. Air jet spinning involves the use of air to spin yarn, while ring spinning is a mechanical process utilizing spindles, steel cans, and steel wires for twisting, and rollers for drawing. In contrast, air jet spinning transports fibers through air flow and twists them at one end. Generally, ring-spun yarn has less hairiness, higher strength, and better quality. The process of air jet spinning is shorter, resulting in more short fibers in the raw material, which leads to yarns with lower hairiness, counts, and twist levels, and thus, lower prices.

In terms of yarn structure, ring-spun yarn is tighter, while air-jet spun yarn is looser, with a rugged style, suitable for denim fabric. Air-jet spun yarn is generally coarser.
