Manganese plates can manipulate the reaction rate of electrode reactions based on the fundamental theory of the electrode reaction process. The polarization of anodic oxidation is primarily caused by factors such as the slow process of anodic oxidation, metal concentration, and the surface film of the metal.

The anodizing process is the entire process in which metallic materials lose electrons and dissolve into a solidified ionic state. In an electrolytic cell, the electrons lost by the metallic materials are rapidly transferred from the anode to the cathode via anodic oxidation. However, the dissolution rate of the metallic materials is generally not as fast as the transfer rate of electrons, which necessarily disrupts the balance of the double layer, resulting in a reduction of electron density in the inner layer of the double layer.

Therefore, the potential difference of anodization shifts towards the positive direction, resulting in anodic polarization. This polarization, caused by the slow progression of the anodization process, becomes the active polarization or photoelectro-catalytic polarization of the metal material. Due to the slow diffusion of metal material ionization at the anodization surface, the ionization concentration of the metal material on the anodization surface increases, hindering the further dissolution of the metal material.
