Wear-resistant overlay plates are a modern, new composite material for wear-resistant steel plates, which have been promoted and used in industrialized countries since the 1960s. With the advancement of science and technology and the demand for the development of the market economy in our country, the special properties and practical economic value of wear-resistant overlay plates have gradually been recognized and utilized by some forward-thinking managers in large-scale industrial and mining enterprises, creating considerable economic benefits for the companies.
Antarco Steel Plate Factory is one of the largest suppliers of surfacing wear-resistant plates in China. Its products are sold in over 10 provinces and municipalities across the country. The comprehensive performance of its products includes:
1. Exceptional wear resistance ratio:
Abrasion test results show that the wear resistance of chromium carbide clad wear-resistant plates is 10-30 times higher than that of ordinary steel plates, 5 times higher than cast stainless steel and high manganese steel, 1 time higher than cast high-chromium iron, and roughly equal to that of ceramic. HRC ≤ 63
2. High impact resistance performance ratio:
The base material is made of Q235A soft steel, with a surface coated in a multi-element carbide chrome wear-resistant overlay composite of ultra-hard materials. This fully demonstrates the dual benefits of composite materials, which possess both exceptional wear resistance and impact toughness, surpassing cast wear-resistant materials. Traditional castings have poor impact resistance and are more brittle, prone to fracturing.
3. Processing convenience performance ratio:
Maintenance workers can freely cut and shape materials on-site to fit the dimensions (plasma cutting), making it convenient to weld wear-resistant steel plates onto the surface of worn-out components (carbon steel face). They can also process them into countersunk holes for bolt connections on structures. Additionally, they can bend and shape them internally for components such as wear-resistant pipes, dust elbows, and various non-standard plates and structures. (Wear-resistant cast plates cannot be assembled using welding methods, and it's difficult to cast large-area wear-resistant plates in cast steel. Moreover, traditional castings are usually heavy due to the design of reinforcing ribs to prevent deformation.)
4. High-performance, low-cost ratio:
Although the cost increases with the use of wear-resistant cladded plates, which are about 3-5 times more expensive than ordinary steel plates and 25% cheaper than high-chromium stainless steel castings, their performance, due to the rational utilization of materials, brings about multiple returns in terms of extended component lifespan, reduced maintenance costs, and minimized losses in human and financial resources due to downtime and production halts.
