Copper-plated round wire is typically produced through processes like electroplating and sheathing. Its major advantage in grounding applications is the ability to utilize steel wire as the main conductor. When copper-plated round wire is combined with high tensile strength and resistance to corrosion, its surface remains unaffected under normal environmental conditions. In lightning protection projects, the benefits of copper-plated round wire are even more pronounced. As a new product mainly made of composite materials, copper-plated round wire offers strong performance, cost-effectiveness, and ease of installation, making it superior to traditional grounding conductors.

How to install copper-coated round wire? Below, the copper-coated round wire manufacturer provides a detailed introduction:

Prior to installing the indoor grounding busbar, first embed the busbar support along the top edge of the wall skirting. If there is no skirting on the indoor walls, the lower edge of the grounding busbar should maintain a distance of 200mm from the ground. Before installation, weld the painted flat steel together on the ground, then install the copper-plated round steel. After laying the indoor grounding busbar along the wall, weld the busbar to its support.

Two: Ground Resistance Measurement: The grounding device should undergo a ground resistance test, which should comply with the design specifications. The grounding bus in the cable trench is installed on the pre-buried parts at the first level of the cable bracket. A temporary spot welding is used between the bus and the pre-buried parts, and they will be fully welded together when the cable bracket is being welded.

Three: Copper-plated round steel lightning rod down conductor device: Regardless of whether the down conductor is installed on a building or structure, it is necessary to pre-embed brackets, then securely fasten the down conductor to the brackets using bolts, lead it to a height of 2 meters from the ground level, and protect it with a sleeve. Additionally, a disconnecting clip should be installed for measuring the grounding resistance.

Four: Method for horizontal laying of copper-plated round steel grounding devices: This method is used in mountainous areas with different soil conditions. Replace the entire trench with yellow clay soil and compact it in layers. The dimensions of the soil replacement trench, except as otherwise specified in the design, are generally 15 meters in length, with the grounding installation buried at 1.5 meters.

Copper-plated round steel is a widely used horizontal earthing wire for grounding, suitable for general environments and those with chemical corrosion mediums due to damp, saline-alkaline, or acidic soil, such as working grounding, protective grounding, and lightning protection grounding. Prior to use, copper-plated round steel typically requires an electrical check to confirm that power has been disconnected, and the operation should be performed only after confirming the absence of voltage on the equipment.
