Double-T beams may be unfamiliar to us; they are precast reinforced concrete load-bearing components that combine boards and beams. They are commonly used in the construction of single-story multi-span industrial buildings and multi-story public and residential buildings. Below is a brief introduction to their application fields:
In single, multi-story, and high-rise buildings, the double-T slab can be directly placed on frames, beams, or load-bearing walls as a floor or roof structure. In single-story industrial workshops, the double-T slab serves as a roof panel and can be horizontally placed on bearing beams or load-bearing walls, or vertically placed on truss beams. Due to its suitability for larger spans, workshops can opt for larger spans or column grids, thereby achieving better technical and economic benefits.
The double T panels can also be vertically installed on a strip foundation as wall panels, at which point, the ribs serve as columns, while the panels and the insulation attached to them act as the protective structure. If double T panels are used simultaneously for the wall, roof, and floor components, the various double T panels should have the same board width and rib spacing to facilitate connection and support. This type of building, which employs double T panels exclusively, can reduce the types and quantities of precast components, lighten the building's weight, shorten the construction period, and achieve better technical and economic benefits.
