The growing demand for agricultural products in our country, coupled with the continuous advancement of agricultural technology, has significantly boosted the deep processing of agricultural and food products. Consequently, the frozen and refrigerated market has seen a surge in demand. In regions such as Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, Hubei, and Henan, the demand for cold storage facilities has been increasing year by year, with the scale of operations expanding. The demand for cold storage at key transportation ports is also on a significant rise, and the application of new cold storage models is growing annually.

A significant portion of our existing cold storage facilities have been in use for 20-30 years and predominantly utilize ammonia refrigeration units. These cold storages have outdated refrigeration pipeline systems, posing substantial safety risks, with severe consequences in the event of a leak. Under the promotion of quality supervision and safety inspection departments, a rapid focus on safety inspections for older cold storage facilities and the replacement of outdated refrigeration systems will be initiated. There will be a short-term surge in demand for new cold storage projects and refrigeration unit upgrades. It is imperative to replace ammonia refrigeration systems with safer Freon-based systems.

Given the market trend for cold storage, the existing capacity of cold storage in our country is insufficient. Regardless of scale or function, our various cold storage facilities have traditionally been constructed following the civil engineering model. This method remains predominant today, featuring an irrational architectural structure that is unsuitable for modern cold chain operations. It is imperative to integrate and renovate existing cold storage resources and construct new cold storage facilities.
