Wulmusi East Access Elevated Road (Beijing Road to Hetan Road) and the ground-level roadsAugust 30th marks the official opening.

Different from other bridges, the Dongchangjia Elevated Road Project primarily utilizes columns, caps, and upper beam-deck structures.The construction is being carried out using the "factory prefabrication + on-site hoisting" method, achieving an assembly rate of 90%, making it the first prefabricated bridge in Xinjiang.

What is a prefabricated bridge? In layman's terms, it is a bridge where the upper structure and some of the lower structure components (piles and beams) are pre-fabricated in a factory and assembled on-site during construction."Like building blocks in the front and constructing them in the back," said Wen Chengjun, the production manager of the Dong Changfang Elevated Project at Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design and Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd.

The eastern access elevated road connects to the elevated bridge of the terminal building of the乌鲁木齐 Airport Reconstruction and Expansion Project. Total length:8.7 kilometers, the newly opened section runs from Beijing Road to Hetan Road, covering a total length of 7.2 kilometers.

During the construction of the Dong进场 Elevated Road Project, the necessary components such as pillars, beam covers, box girders, and collision barriers were allOver 30 kilometers away, at the prefabrication base, the steel components undergo a series of processes including cutting, assembly, welding, polishing, and painting—all completed on an integrated,智能化-controlled production line. They are then transported to the construction site of the Dong Jinchang Elevated Road, where they are lifted using large-scale hoisting equipment, much like stacking building blocks.

The prefabrication base on-site employs advanced technology and processes in areas such as CNC equipment for steel reinforcement processing, precision steel formwork manufacturing, reinforcement shaping inspection, concrete quality control, intelligent precast component detection, and full-process information management, ensuring the installation accuracy of components is within millimeters.

Xinjiang Transportation Construction Group Co., Ltd. Project Manager Zhang Xuchang of the Dongchangjia高架Road Project introduced that each bridge component produced at the base isDifferentOur QR code, a quick scan reveals detailed information about the component, including concrete volume, length, weight, production process, and the specific location on the bridge where it should be installed. It's like the ID card of prefabricated bridges, allowing lifelong traceability.

  "Pre-fabricated bridge technology boasts high construction quality, short construction periods, and minimal environmental impact," said Wen Chengjun. During the assembly process of the Dong Changhai Elevated Project, ultra-high-performance concrete connection technology was also employed, which offers excellent seismic performance and enhances structural safety. Compared to traditional cast-in-place techniques, pre-fabricated bridge construction is noiseless, fast, and dust-free, reducing the construction period by about 30%, water usage by 50%, and construction waste by over 80%.

Journalists learned that the traditional road and bridge industry, relying heavily on on-site construction and manual labor, is significantly constrained by site conditions and construction techniques, leading to uneven quality of structural components. However, the prefabrication of components through intelligent and standardized manufacturing processes has greatly enhanced the precision and efficiency of road and bridge construction, transforming the industry's products into industrial goods. This has propelled a significant upgrade in construction techniques and the building industry, and also represents a trend for the future development of municipal infrastructure construction towards green and low-carbon practices.

As the first prefabricated bridge in Xinjiang, the Dongchanggao Elevated Road not only achieves technological innovation but also explores functional enhancements for the city's traffic network. Currently, the Beijing Road, Changchun Road, Dongzhai Road, Dongcai Road, and other roads have been involved.Ten main and secondary roads have been interconnected with the eastern entry elevated and ground-level roads, accelerating the flow of logistics, people, and information within the region, providing strong support for the construction of an international comprehensive transportation hub city.
