With the advancement of technology, construction materials are constantly emerging. Currently, cities and rural areas are all implementing light transmittance roof projects. Why are glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) tiles being increasingly chosen among building materials? Below, the editor introduces the advantages of GFRP tiles.
Introducing the advantages of fiberglass roofing sheets: Traditionally, steel tiles are predominantly used for building roofs, which have many drawbacks. For instance, in the rainy season in the south, excessive accumulation of water over time leads to more dirt buildup. Eventually, the roof surface may experience rot and corrosion, necessitating extensive repairs.
The adoption of glass fiber reinforced plastic roofing can resolve these frequent issues. Rainwater can flow down the roof surface, and accumulated dirt can be washed away with the rain. Additionally, the advantages of glass fiber reinforced plastic roofs include excellent sound insulation. Sound level measurement tests show that under the influence of external noises such as heavy rain, hail, and strong winds, glass fiber reinforced plastic roofs can absorb noise or reduce the transmission of noise. They are also lightweight, making installation and transportation easier.
The performance of the steel tile also includes corrosion resistance and protective material properties; however, due to its iron composition, it is inevitable that it will be affected by rain and exposure to the sun, leading to rust and aging, which significantly reduces the lifespan of the steel tile and can also cause leakage. The distinction lies in the fact that iron is susceptible to lightning. During seasons with frequent thunderstorms, seeking shelter under steel tiles during lightning strikes can pose a significant safety hazard to people.
