Prior to use, dissolve aluminum chloride hydrate at a certain concentration (10-30%) in the solfite pond, add tap water and stir thoroughly to achieve complete hydrolysis. Allow it to settle until it turns into a reddish-brown liquid, then dilute with water to the desired concentration for coagulation addition. Water plants can also prepare a solution of 2-5% for direct addition, while industrial wastewater treatment can be directly prepared at 5-10% for addition.
2. Determining the dosage of crystalline aluminum chloride can be achieved by adjusting production or conducting beaker tests based on the characteristics of the raw water, with the formation of floc as the guide. Water treatment plants can refer to their existing dosages for other treatments. Under the same conditions, the dosage of this product is roughly equivalent to that of solid polyaluminum chloride, which is about 1/3 to 1/4 of the dosage of solid aluminum sulfate. If a liquid product is selected, the dosage can be calculated based on the concentration of the corresponding treatment agent, generally determined by a weight ratio of 1:3.
3. During use, pump the prepared crystalline aluminum chloride treatment solution into the metering tank, where it is dosed and mixed with the raw water to form a slurry.
4. Generally, crystalline aluminum chloride is prepared and used on the same day. For preparation of the treatment solution, tap water is required, and slight precipitation is a normal phenomenon. It forms alum flowers quickly, with large particles, easy to settle, and low dosage. It can still maintain stable coagulation effect at low water temperatures; the purified water has low color and iron and manganese content, causing little corrosion to equipment; no lime is needed to adjust the pH value; crystalline aluminum chloride is widely used for treating industrial wastewater, especially effective for heavy metal wastewater containing Fe, Mn, Cr, Pb, and special wastewater containing fluorine and oil, with notable functions of decolorization and COD removal.
