2. Crystalline aluminum chloride for casting is primarily used in the precision casting industry, serving as a substitute for ammonium chloride as a shell hardener for investment casting. Compared to magnesium chloride and ammonium chloride as hardeners, it requires less usage and has a lower overall cost.
