What are the causes of the abnormal sound of the dry transformer?

The noise produced by dry-type transformers is a critical indicator of their operation, a common process performance that can be used to distinguish the operational status of dry-type transformers. It also facilitates the detection of common faults, particularly the location of faults in dry-type transformers, providing a reference for their entire troubleshooting process. This enables quick and convenient regular inspections, which is highly beneficial for improving performance characteristics. What are the causes of abnormal noise in dry-type transformers, and how should they be addressed? Below, Jula Transformer Factory provides a detailed introduction of the four main causes.

1. The internal iron core or bracket of the dry transformer may become loose, causing an increase in noise, which may also be intermittent and杂乱。Tests show that the load current is not significant, and the temperature is moderate; the secondary full-load working voltage is balanced, and no supervision is required; if the noise continues to amplify, it should be considered for replacement and maintenance.

2. Dry-type transformers with shock loads, such as frequently-starting large motors and intermittent operation of DC welders, can cause a sharp decrease in sound levels and irregular changes. Clear distinction can be made by measuring the load; if it does not exceed the allowable load specifications or the allowable voltage fluctuations, no action is required. If it exceeds the allowable range, the respective job responsibilities should be identified and addressed accordingly. If the customer's equipment is being used with permission, the power system should consider increasing the capacity of the dry-type transformer. If the customer's equipment is being used without permission, not only should immediate cessation be demanded, but also necessary penalties should be imposed.

3. In the management system, a remote short-circuit fault or grounding device may not immediately fuse the fuse element (due to the relatively small short-circuit capacity or the excessive capacity of the fuse element equipment), resulting in an uneven magnetic flux path under the actual short-circuit capacity, which is not optimistic.A strong and even noise occurred.
