FRP storage tanks should be equipped with excellent drainage ditches and dilution equipment when storing chemical substances, with the surrounding area.
2. The foundation of the equipment fiberglass storage tank must be level and capable of withstanding the corresponding pressure. If a steel structure is used, the gaps should not be too large, and wooden or iron plates should be laid on top.
3. Due to the inevitable upward bulging of the glass fiber reinforced plastic tank's bottom during molding to form a spherical shape, the base must be made into a spherical shape similar to the bottom. On a level base, there is no need to spread sand to create a spherical shape corresponding to the tank's bottom. When used outdoors, the tank should be positioned to prevent direct sunlight to extend its service life.
4. Tubes connecting to the bottom joint or flange of a fiberglass storage tank must be perpendicular to the barrel wall, using flexible joints to prevent uneven expansion of the barrel wall from top to bottom after filling with liquid, which can lead to damage at the joints and leakage. In severe cases, it may even damage the joints and the barrel itself.
5. Before using the glass fiber storage tank, the sealing function of the interfaces should be checked. You can add liquid above the interface to observe for any leaks. For tanks containing chemical liquids, perform a water leak test to prevent significant losses.
When the inlet is positioned higher from the bottom of the tank, the inlet should be bent towards the tank wall to allow the incoming liquid to flow down along the wall, reducing the impact on the bottom.
In the event that the liquid level cannot be controlled, an overflow port should be installed to prevent the liquid from spilling out of the manhole, causing unnecessary damage.
8. When installing heavy auxiliary equipment such as mixers on drums, or when personnel need to work on the drum top but it cannot bear their weight, please set up a scaffold or a ladder, and always be mindful of safety during operations.
9. The fiberglass storage tank comes with a full-welded reinforcing ring. In case of necessity, a metal reinforcing sleeve can be used to bind the expansion deformation of the tank body, and then prevent the bottom from expanding.
10. During the installation of large-scale fiberglass storage tanks, safety should be a top priority, and cranes should be used as much as possible.
