3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe coating structure:

Epoxy powder coating layer (FBE > 100 microns)

Double-sided Adhesive (AD) 170-250μm

3-layer polyethylene (PE) 2.5～3.7mm. The three materials are integrated into one and form an excellent anti-corrosion layer when firmly bonded with steel pipes.

Pipe diameter range: Φ60 to Φ1420.

Both of these belong to the category of PE anti-corrosion, and are very suitable for application in the oil and gas industry. The production process is the same.

2. Differences between 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipes and 2PE anti-corrosion steel pipes

3PE coated steel pipes have an additional layer of epoxy powder compared to 2PE coated steel pipes. The epoxy powder offers superior corrosion resistance, mechanical properties, and strong resistance to peel-off. Despite its advantages like strict surface treatment requirements, poor weather resistance, and higher water absorption rate, it is suitable for buried pipelines and submarine pipelines. The coating thickness is only 0.3 to 0.5 millimeters, with a service life of up to 40 to 50 years.

3PE Corrosion-Resistant Steel Pipe Production Process

The bare tubes undergo a shot blasting rust removal process after being heated at medium frequency. Following rust inspection, they are heated again, reaching a certain temperature for coating. The powder coating is applied first, followed by the adhesive, and finally the polyethylene coating. A strict leak inspection is conducted during the coating process. That's basically the production flow.
