I. Overview

Dry-wet combined closed-loop cooling towers, or simply dry-wet combined, dry-wet mixed, or dry-wet integrated closed-loop cooling towers, combine dry and wet coil technologies, merging the benefits of both heat transfer methods. The dry coil takes advantage of lower local temperatures to reduce the medium to near dry bulb temperature, using only the kinetic energy of air flow, with no water consumption. The wet coil then lowers the medium to near wet bulb temperature, compensating for the dry coil's inability to reach wet bulb temperature. This results in significant water savings and is highly favored by customers.


Part II: Process Workflow

1. Production equipment generates heat, which is transferred to the circulating medium, high-temperature medium, and then enters a dry-wet combined closed cooling tower through sealed pipelines.

2. High-temperature medium enters the dry cooling coil, transferring heat to the fins through the base pipe, then exchanging heat with the high-speed airflow passing over, carrying away heat energy, and lowering the temperature.

3. After cooling, the medium enters a wet coil, where it is cooled further through the evaporation and condensation of spray water. This method offers a greater cooling range than dry coils, but requires the use of spray water.

4. The circulating medium is cooled and temperature reduced by dry and wet fin tubes to meet process requirements, then it is sealed and returned to the production equipment for reheating and repeated circulation.



III. Advantages

1. Dry Spiral Tube: Zero water consumption, no scale on the tube exterior, high temperature to direct drop, fully utilizing the local low temperature characteristics of the project, using air to cool the high-temperature medium by about 2~4 degrees, completely zero water consumption.

2. Wet-Type: High efficiency, large temperature difference, low investment; reduces the temperature of the circulating medium to the required temperature for the production process, minimizing investment in dry-type coils.


IV. Application Scenarios

1. Northwest Region: Water-scarce and arid area; reduces water consumption and also cuts branch expenses.

2. Sufficient Power Areas: Due to the large air volume required during dry operation and the high power of the fan motor, energy consumption is considerable. This makes it particularly suitable for regions abundant in wind, hydro, tidal, and nuclear power.
