New or idle furnace cars over six months must be seasoned before resuming use to remove moisture from the refractory lining, enhancing insulation properties and reinforcing the lining structure. Additionally, seasoned linings can reduce the damage to the lining caused by cracking of refractory materials due to rapid heating. Today, the Xingding editorial team will introduce you to the seasoning process and working principle of furnace cars!
Section 1: Oven Curing Process Description for Trolley Furnace
1. Furnace Process
(1) Water Excretion Period:The transition from room temperature to 200°C is the period for the evaporation of moisture in the slurry and some moisture within the bricks. At this time, it is necessary to open the furnace door of the traveling carriage furnace and maintain the temperature at 200°C for an extended period to ensure that the moisture can be fully evaporated.
(2) Masonry Expansion Period:During the temperature range of 200℃ to 600℃, it is the period when the masonry begins to expand and deform. At this point, the temperature should be increased slowly, and attention should be paid to the rate of temperature increase during this period. Generally, I suggest the rate of temperature increase not exceed 50℃/h.
(3) Shelf Life:At temperatures above 600°C, the rate of heating and holding time can be determined based on the varying operating temperature of the furnace. For every 100°C to 200°C increase, an appropriate holding period is required; rushing the process may damage the masonry.

2. Furnace Time
At room temperature up to 200°C, for 12 hours
200°C to 400°C, for 12 hours
400°C to 600°C, for 8 hours
600°C to 800°C, for 4 hours
800℃ to 1000°C, for 2 hours
3. Important Notes
When the furnace temperature is below 400°C, slightly open the furnace door to allow the moisture inside to evaporate.
Upon completion of the furnace, after the temperature drops below 100°C, use a 500-volt megohmmeter to measure the insulation resistance between phases and between phases and ground, which should be no less than 0.5 megohms.
Section Two: The Working Principle of the Trolley Furnace
The carriage furnace is a periodic operation furnace with no divided areas in the furnace chamber. Its structure features a movable carriage at the bottom. Before heating, the carriage is loaded outside the furnace, with the heated components placed on special iron pads. The carriage is then pulled into the furnace to begin heating by the牵引机构 (traction mechanism). After heating, the carriage is pulled out of the furnace by the traction mechanism for unloading. Subsequently, a crane lifts the heated workpiece to the forging and pressing equipment for processing.
Here is the full content of the trolley kiln drying process and its working principle. As introduced above, the drying process requires different drying times at various temperature stages, including moisture expulsion, body expansion, and insulation periods. The working principle involves the use of movable trolleys for loading, feeding, and unloading. If you encounter any issues during the drying process, please feel free to contact Luoyang Xingding Kiln Co., Ltd., and we will promptly provide you with answers and solutions.
