What is High Molecular Weight Polypropylene (HMPP)?

High-modulus polypropylene HMPP winding station material is also a type of plastic material currently used for buried drainage and sewage treatment. It is considered an ideal material for wastewater systems on the market and is a genuinely environmentally friendly material that is recyclable. This material has a yield strength of over 30MPA and an elastic modulus of ≥1500MPa, whereas the elastic modulus of HDPE is only 800MPa. The elastic modulus of the material plays a decisive role in the ring stiffness of the products produced; the higher the elastic modulus, the higher the ring stiffness of the product.

HMPP Wrapped Structure Pipe Production Utilizes Double-Winding Molding Technology, Different from the current market's single-winding molding technology for Kela pipes, which involves wrapping the base and ribbed pipe onto the mold in one go. This method has the drawback of internal stress in the pipe material, significant deformation of the ribbed pipe, and low profile height. (As shown in the following figure)


Due to the direct proportionality between hoop stiffness and moment of inertia, the product of the double winding production process boasts a hoop stiffness approximately 15%-33% higher than that of the single winding production process for tubes of the same specification.

The hoop stiffness refers to the pipeline's ability to withstand external pressure. The HMPP spiral-wound pipes made of polypropylene are determined by factors such as the external pressure load, the comprehensive elastic modulus of the soil on the pipe side, the type of backfill material, the degree of compaction, and the condition of the original soil on the trench side.
