Deputy Director Luo Junjie of the Equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated, "As a major project to enhance the national basic manufacturing capabilities among 16 national science and technology projects, the next step for the CNC machine tool special project will closely monitor the trends of intelligence and networking. It will focus on the full industrial chain of the machine tool industry, continuously concentrate on the two key service areas of aerospace and automotive, establish a production and demand matching platform for the machine tool industry and key fields such as military industry and automotive, and strive to fill the gaps in major equipment. This will drive the strategic transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry."
Chief Technical Specialist and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Lu Bingheng, stated at the press conference that by the end of 2016, the S-shaped test piece standard independently proposed by our country for detecting the accuracy of five-axis machining centers has passed the approval of the International Standards Committee, marking a "zero" breakthrough for our country in the field of high-end CNC machine tool testing standards.
In addition, as introduced by Luo Junjie, China's high-end CNC systems have reached international standards in key technical indicators, breaking foreign technological monopolies and achieving mass production of key functional components. By 2016, the high-end CNC systems supported by the special funding for CNC machine tools had累计 sold over 1000 sets, increasing the domestic market share from less than 1% before the initiative to around 5%. Key functional components such as ball screws, guides, and power tool holders have approached the international advanced level in terms of precision and reliability.
Regarding future development, Luo Junjie stated that the CNC machine tool special project will deploy innovation chains around industrial chains, improve capital chains around innovation chains, comprehensively enhance the research, manufacturing, and industrialization levels of key components represented by CNC systems, and focus on overcoming technical challenges in machine reliability and precision retention. It will also increase application verification and demonstration to meet the new strategic needs of the country, providing support for the full implementation of "Made in China 2025." Additionally, it will continue to explore long-term mechanisms for researching common industrial technologies, further strengthening the foundation of technical research and high-end talent.
