To ensure the smooth operation and longevity of air compressors, proper maintenance is crucial. Whether you're using reciprocating, screw, or centrifugal compressors, neglecting maintenance is not an option. So, how should you maintain your air compressor? And what should you be aware of before performing maintenance? For screw air compressors, here are some details to pay attention to before maintenance:
First, disconnect the main power supply and hang a sign at the power switch to ensure personal safety.
Prior to maintenance, ensure that the air compressor unit is fully cooled to avoid the risk of burns or scalds.
Three, close the shut-off valve leading to the gas supply system to prevent compressed air from flowing back into the inspected section; reliance on one-way valves for isolating the gas supply system is not sufficient.
Open the manual drain valve to release pressure from the system and keep the valve in the open position.
If the compressor is part of a water-cooling system, the water supply system must be shut off and the pressure in the piping must be released.
