In the process of calculating the area of aluminum composite panels, a core issue that cannot be ignored is whether the folded edges should be included in the area calculation. In the aluminum composite panel industry, there are mainly two methods for calculating the area: the exposed area and the unfolded area. The first method calculates the area based on the unfolded size, including all folded edges. The second method calculates the area based on the exposed area, also known as the projected area, which only accounts for the visible area after the aluminum composite panel facade is installed, excluding regular folded edges.
Typically, aluminum sheet manufacturers control the bending area of aluminum sheets to be between 15mm to 20mm. In other words, if the bending area is less than 20mm, it will not be included in the aluminum sheet project settlement list. If the bending area of the aluminum sheet exceeds 20mm, then this area will serve as the basis for settlement. To avoid disputes in the future, it is believed that both parties should engage in effective communication and reflect the specific content in the purchase and sale contract.
Aluminum Composite Panel Engineering Area Calculation Rules
Aluminum Composite Panel Material: Production is strictly carried out according to the specifications and dimensions required by the design drawings. The bend area of the aluminum plate is not counted if it is within 20mm. Curved and non-standard aluminum composite panels require separate pricing.
Aluminum Profiles: Calculate the weight of various aluminum materials by length and x-ray density, measured in kilograms (kg).
Steel: First calculate the length by specification, then convert it to weight in kilograms (kg).
Embedding pieces and angle steel brackets: Calculate the number of pieces according to different specifications, then calculate their weight.
Insulating Rock Wool: Calculated by cubic meters (m³) as per design drawings.
Silicone Sealant: First, calculate the length of different sealant joints according to the diagram, then convert it to the number of sticks for calculation (typically, a 500mL sealant package can produce a 3m joint for a 16mm wide sealant, and a 592mL package can produce a 3.5m joint for a 16mm wide sealant). You can also calculate it using the following method: Sealant width (mm) x Sealant thickness (mm) (thickness is usually calculated as 10mm or half the width) x Sealant length (m) / Volume per stick (mL) = Number of sticks of sealant.
