When using stainless steel round tubes, pay attention to the following points for processed components and finished products: they must pass inspection before undergoing surface treatment. The burrs, flux, weld spatter, dust, and accumulated dirt on the surface of stainless steel tubes should be cleaned up before rust removal. Additionally, loose oxide scales and thick rust layers should be removed.
If there is oil or grease on the surface of stainless steel pipes, it should be scraped clean before rust removal. If oil or grease is present only in part of the area, a partial treatment method can generally be used; if it's on a large area or the entire surface, organic solvents or hot alkali can be employed for cleaning.
When acid, alkali, or salt is present on the surface of stainless steel pipes, they can be washed off with hot water or steam. However, attention should be paid to the disposal of waste water to prevent environmental pollution. Some newly rolled stainless steel pipes are coated with protective paint to prevent rusting during short-term storage and transportation.
For stainless steel tubing coated with maintenance paint, the handling should be determined on a case-by-case basis. If the paint is a two-component coating cured with a hardener and the coating is mostly intact, it can be abraded with sandpaper, steel tube velvet, or treated with a light blasting method. After dust is cleaned off, the next stage of construction can proceed.
