There are numerous factors that can lead to blockages in pneumatic conveying, such as improper operation or humidity. It could also be due to the manager of pneumatic conveying not having a sufficient understanding of the system, resulting in premature changes to the structure, equipment parameters, and operational procedures. What are the common causes of blockages in pneumatic conveying?
1. When using a high-pressure conveying system for pneumatic ash transport, the conveying is勉强 carried out under less than the specified gas source pressure; during pulse pneumatic conveying, when the gas knife pressure is too low or the gas time is arbitrarily shortened, or when the material time is extended to make the material plug too long.
2. During pneumatic conveying of fly ash with silo pumps, the intake valve of the silo pump opens too slowly, doesn't open fully, or accidentally closes during the conveying process; the sealing ring is not airtight due to lack of ventilation; the directional valve is turned but not properly aligned before opening the conveying air source; during negative pressure pneumatic conveying, the inlet or nozzle is obstructed; all these issues result from insufficient air volume and pressure used for conveying.

During the pulse jet conveying of fly ash, with the storage pump already pressurized, the discharge ball valve was opened prematurely before the air knife was introduced, resulting in a sudden ejection of material from the pump and clogging a substantial length of pipeline.
4. The material inside the storage pump was overfilled, resulting in insufficient air intake and poor mixing of air with the material.
5. Large or elongated debris mixed in materials, causing blockages at the discharge outlet or at a certain section of the pipeline.
6. Excess material in storage pumps or feed tubes, not cleared before conveying, leads to an overabundance of material in certain areas of the pipeline; if the excess has solidified, it becomes even more prone to causing blockages.
7. The material in the receiving silo is full and has covered the outlet of the conveying pipe.
8. During cold winters or rainy seasons, condensation often forms on the inner walls of pipes; the high-pressure air from the air compressor is not sufficiently dehydrated; the material itself has a high temperature or contains a high amount of hygroscopic components; these factors can increase moisture content in the material, making it sticky, which in turn leads to the phenomenon of ash plugging in pipelines.
9. Certain materials with self-hardening properties tend to agglomerate during conveyance; some materials are elastic and become increasingly solid under positive pressure pneumatic conveying; these characteristics are prone to cause blockages in conveying pipelines.
10. The pneumatic conveying system encounters emergencies such as sudden power outages or failure of gas supply system valves, or other unexpected incidents during material transportation.
