The UVW alignment platform is also known as the (Automated Equipment CPU). With the UVW alignment platform and its system, nearly 90% of manual labor can be replaced. Below, let's discuss its basic functions.
The Alignment Platform, as the name suggests, is used for alignment purposes. It can be utilized to assemble any two workpieces together. However, not all assembly processes require an alignment platform, as not all require such high precision. The alignment platform can achieve precision down to 1 micron, which is the level of accuracy used in chip printing.
Precision has gone down, as seen in the lamination of smartphone screens, which requires accuracy within 3 micrometers. There are three commonly used alignment platforms: xyθ structure, 5M structure, and UVW structure. While their structures differ, their core function is alignment, achieved through movement along the X-axis, movement along the Y-axis, and rotation around the θ-axis. The UVW alignment platform was invented by the Japanese, consisting of an upper plate, a lower plate, and four single units. UVW corresponds to three power axes: two motors in the X-axis direction (VW axis), one motor in the Y-axis direction (U). The two motors on the X-axis move synchronously to achieve X-axis movement, while the single motor in the Y-axis controls Y-axis movement. When the two motors on the X-axis are out of sync, it facilitates rotation around the θ-axis. Thus, by controlling the three motors, movement in X and Y is achieved, and rotation around the θ-axis completes the alignment.
Currently, the applications of the alignment platform are primarily in industries with high-speed and high-precision requirements, such as wafer cutting in the semiconductor industry, packaging and testing, exposure machines, screen printing machines, lamination machines, pressing machines, PCB board cutting, mobile phone manufacturing, LCD/LED panel manufacturing, and solar panel silver wire printing in the solar industry. These industries are merely pioneers for the alignment platform users. With the accelerating growth trend of automation, more industries will adopt this platform, which is known as the "CPU of automation equipment."
