During the production of blow molding products, various issues often arise, commonly including pulling lines, scratches, crystalline spots, bubbles, and wavy patterns on the blow molding packaging. These issues can have numerous negative impacts on the blow molding products. Today, Lin Zhi Jie focuses on explaining the causes of water patterns in blow molding products and the ways to improve them, hoping this information will be helpful to you.

Why Vacuum Forming Products Have Water Marks

Watermarks typically appear on flat blister packaging with high planes and no dimples, as they are formed during the blister packaging production process when heated sheet material comes into contact with the blister mold. Due to the high plane and lack of dimples on the blister mold, there is no room for the material to contract on the mold surface during the thermal forming process, leading to watermarks. Generally, these watermarks are difficult to avoid and can only be reduced by modifying the blister mold or improving the production process.

Methods to Improve Watermark on Blister Products:

Enhanced Blister Structure: Modified blister structure to minimize water mark occurrence.

2. Modified Blow Molding Die Materials: The commonly used blow molding dies are typically copper and aluminum molds. Since both of these molds have smooth surfaces, the resulting blow molded products often exhibit severe watermarks. In such cases, it is necessary to switch to the less commonly used resin molds, which have a rougher surface and are highly effective in overcoming watermarks.

3. Modify the Machine: Add a hot air blower to the machine, similar to the function of an iron, to smooth out the watermarks.

These are common and frustrating issues we often encounter in the process of blow molding packaging production, and paying slight attention to details can easily lead to these problems.
