Fire Truck Aluminum Alloy Roller Door Manufacturer Explains the Control Methods of Roller Doors
Fire truck roller shutters come in both electric and manual operation. The fireproof roller shutter operation programs include single-step descent and double-step descent.
Step Down
Fire shutter doors located on non-evacuation pathways, exclusively used for fire separation, are equipped with fire alarm detectors on both sides. The operational procedure is a one-step descent, meaning that once the relevant fire alarm detectors trigger an alarm, the fire-resistant shutter will immediately descend to the ground.
Two-Step Descent
Fireproof rolling shutters located on the evacuation corridor shall be equipped with fire alarm detectors on both sides, and manual control buttons should be set on both sides as well. The operation sequence is a two-step descent: after a fire alarm detector is activated, the shutter will descend to a height of 1.7~1.8 meters from the ground and stop; upon another fire alarm detector being activated, the shutter should continue descending to the ground.
Manual Operation Method
The manual operation location of fire truck roller doors is usually positioned on one side of the roller shaft. The operation tool is a circular iron chain lock. Typically, the lock chain is stored in a storage box. During operation, first open the box door to retrieve the lock chain. If you pull the chain on the side facing the wall downward, the roller door will lower. Conversely, if you pull the chain on the other side downward, the roller door will roll up.
Electric Operation Method
The electric button for automatically operating the fire door roller shutter is installed on the interior and exterior walls on one side of the door, allowing operation from both sides. To roll up the shutter, press the green up button; to lower it, press the green down button; and to stop, press the red button in the middle.
Control Room Operations
The control room operation refers to a method where the on-duty personnel in the fire control room directly operate the roller shutter lifting and lowering. Typically, it is initiated upon the discovery by surveillance or an alarm, and in the event of a fire in a certain area, the electrical switch is activated directly in the control room to implement area isolation and control the spread of the fire.
