The color fastness of webbing is a crucial inspection criterion for printed textiles. However, the color fastness inspection criteria for textiles using different types of dyes are not entirely identical. Due to the variation in dye types, the color fastness inspection criteria can differ by up to one and a half grades. The washing fastness of webbing dyed cotton fabric (white fabric staining) for还原染料 is 4-5 levels, while sulfur, naphthol, and reactive dyes are at 3 levels.

This is due to the differences in molecular arrangements, chemical properties, and other factors among various ribbon dyes. Consequently, the methods and cohesion of combining different textiles vary. Some ribbon dyes chemically bond to the textile fibers, attaching to the fabric through chemical bonds, while others adhere to the fabric through physical reactions.

Ribbons are categorized by their manufacturing processes, with the two main types being weft and knitted ribbons. Particularly, jacquard ribbons bear some resemblance to label-making techniques, but while label warp threads are sturdy and express patterns through weft, ribbons have sturdy weft threads and patterns are expressed through warp threads, utilizing small shuttles. Each pattern creation, yarn production, and shuttle adjustment requires considerable time, and the yield is relatively low. However, they can produce a wide variety of products that are dazzling and diverse, unlike labels that often have a limited range of appearances.

The primary function of ribbon is decorative, but it can also be functional, as seen in popular phone straps, for instance. After the ribbon is woven, it can be silk-screened with various designs or patterns, which usually results in a more personalized product than directly weaving the designs. The ribbon is made from high-strength polyester material, featuring high strength, heat resistance, and flame retardancy.

The fabric ribbon can also be coated with PVC on its surface to meet sweat resistance requirements. A unique process ensures a thorough bond between the PVC and the ribbon, providing results such as wear resistance, corrosion resistance, sweat prevention, and an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

Therefore, the auditing criteria for color fastness are not identical. Consequently, determining the type of dye used on printed and dyed textiles is crucial for assessing their color fastness. Belts, based on dyeing and finishing principles, use different types of dyes for various textile materials. The composition of the fabric can provide an initial guess about the type of dye used, which can then be verified through targeted tests.
