The feeding machine fails to deliver the material properly, which refers to the press feeding machine not being able to deliver the material to the required position when feeding the press. There are many reasons for this issue, such as incorrect feed spacing, speed settings, insufficient pressure on the feeding roller, foreign objects inside the roller, and so on. So, what should we do when we encounter a feeding machine that fails to deliver the material?


Most standard enterprises produce feeders with misfeed detection devices installed on their stamping feeding equipment. This is to ensure that customers can quickly locate equipment malfunctions, reducing the losses caused by such issues. These devices are convenient and practical for timely detecting reasons for incomplete feeding and other malfunctions. Below is a brief introduction.


Feeding Machine Material Misfeed Detection Principle: Utilizing the conductivity of materials (iron, copper, stainless steel), the contact sensing device is activated, and the signal is inputted into the PLC along with the cam cycle signal to be inspected. The signal is compared with the content of the host program; if it matches, the machine continues to run. If it does not, the machine stops immediately and emits an alarm with both sound and light (TM yellow light). The machine is reset and restarted after the operator confirms the fault is resolved.


The molding product inspection method is designed for blow-molded product testing, to eliminate any material stacking issues. Once the progressive die stamping is completed, a discharge must be initiated. The discharge is performed within a specific cam cycle using a compressed air blow-out device. The product passes through a light curtain, cutting the light curtain signal. During this process, the product (or scrap) must pass through the light curtain. If it does not pass and remains in the progressive die, the next stamping cycle will cause damage to the mold or product. The PLC compares the light curtain signal's on/off with the cam signal cycle, and if it aligns with the main program, it continues to run. If not, it immediately stops and emits an audible and visual alarm (MY green light). The machine is then reset and restarted only after the operator confirms the fault has been resolved.
