Steel-reinforced polypropylene strapping is a polyester strapping made by extrusion and unidirectional stretching from PET material, serving as an alternative to steel strapping. It is now widely used in industries such as brick kilns, steel, aluminum ingots, textiles, and wood processing. Video: You might not recognize it, but it is extensively used.

In the early stages of the industry, around 2002, due to the immature production technology, most plastic steel strips were manufactured using polyester chips as raw materials. Polyester chips generally refer to the polyester raw materials obtained from polymerization, which are usually processed into pellet-like shapes measuring approximately 4x5x2 millimeters.

Although the quality of塑钢strip produced directly from polyester chips is excellent, its cost is relatively high. With the advancement of塑钢strip production technology, automation and temperature control technologies, the industry can gradually utilize recycled beverage bottle flakes for production, as shown in Figure 3. Moreover, this approach adheres to the strategy of sustainable development and upholds the philosophy that "green mountains and clear waters are as valuable as gold and silver mountains."

Since 2002, the consumption of plastic steel strapping has grown at a rate of 500% annually, resulting in a significant amount of used plastic steel strapping. This has spurred the emergence of an industry dedicated to collecting and shredding strapping. Manufacturers with advanced technology use shredded strapping as raw material to produce plastic steel strapping. Due to the low adhesion between plastic molecules after multiple destruction and recombination, adhesives are added to enhance stickiness.

For conventional steel-plastic strips, production can be achieved by blending recycled material (ground steel-plastic strips) and virgin material (bottle flakes) in various proportions. As for fully automatic steel-plastic strapping, which is used on fully automatic strapping machines and has higher requirements for all aspects of the strapping, polyester chips are used for production.
