Water-repellent rock wool boards are made from basalt and other natural ores, which are melted at high temperatures to form fibers, then mixed with an appropriate binder and solidified through processing. They are widely used in industries such as shipbuilding, metallurgy, electricity, and construction, offering excellent thermal insulation and soundproofing properties. These boards are suitable for vehicle, mobile equipment, cold storage projects, air conditioning pipelines, and applications in humid environments where thermal insulation and fire prevention are required, as well as for moisture resistance.
Application
Widely applied in the insulation of industrial boiler and equipment pipelines in sectors such as petrochemical, metallurgy, shipbuilding, textile, etc., also used in the construction industry for partition walls, ceiling, and sound-absorbing insulation for interior and exterior walls.
Rock wool, a type of mineral wool, is a fluffy, short, fine fiber made from natural rocks and minerals. Widely used in metallurgy, machinery, construction materials, oil, and chemical industries since the 1970s. It is produced by melting natural rock and ore materials in a blast furnace or other pool-type furnace (below 2000°C), then blowing them at 50 atmospheres of pressure and rapidly cooling them into fiber form. Alternatively, it can be made by spinning the molten liquid onto a multi-stage rotating disc, utilizing centrifugal force to form fibers, typically with a diameter of 3~9 micrometers, a density of 50~200 kg/m³, and a thermal conductivity of 0.029~0.044 W/m·k at room temperature, and 0.111~0.145 W/m·k below 600°C. It is non-flammable, non-moldy, and non-rotting. It is categorized by service temperature into ordinary rock wool (below 900°C) and high-temperature rock wool (above 900°C).
