Today, our greenhouse manufacturer introduces the importance of choosing the orientation of a greenhouse.
Designing the foundation of greenhouses for cold regions should exceed the frozen layer, as it is determined by the geological structure and local climatic conditions. The foundation should be deeper in areas with loose soil. Greenhouses that cannot be produced year-round should have deeper foundations than those that operate year-round. Above the foundation filled with rubble or river stone, add a ground beam 2030 cm thick. Construct walls above the ground beam, ensuring there is an insulating layer filled with materials such as expanded polystyrene or perlite. It is recommended to leave expansion joints every 70 meters of wall length. The rear wall of the greenhouse should have certain ventilation windows, depending on the greenhouse's use, for winter ventilation. Before the construction of the greenhouse walls is sealed, pre-buried components for arch installation should be placed. The height of the greenhouse walls is determined by the span of the greenhouse, generally, the rear wall height should be 2.5 meters for an 8-meter span greenhouse, and 2.3 meters for a 7.5-meter span greenhouse.
When selecting a location, opt for a flat plot as the site of a greenhouse is crucial. Avoid high groundwater levels, obstructions like high mountains and buildings, and sites with pollution, as these are unsuitable for users in the planting and breeding industry. Additionally, in regions with strong seasonal winds, consider the wind resistance of the chosen greenhouse. Generally, the wind resistance of a greenhouse should be above level 8.
The orientation of Shandong greenhouses significantly affects their heat retention capacity, particularly for solar greenhouses. Experience suggests that in southern regions, a slightly westerly orientation is preferable for greenhouses. An angle between 51° to 10° is ideal for accumulating more heat. If constructing multiple greenhouses, the distance between them should not be less than the width of a single greenhouse.
Greenhouse structures are oriented with the end of the greenhouse facing either north or south. For those engaged in planting, it is recommended to choose a north-south orientation. This direction ensures even light distribution for the crops within the greenhouse.
Wall materials for greenhouses should have good thermal insulation and heat storage capabilities. It is emphasized that the interior walls of the greenhouse must have heat storage functions, and the construction of the solar greenhouse should be adapted to the local conditions to store heat. At night, this heat is released to maintain the temperature balance inside the greenhouse. Brick walls, cement plaster walls, and earthen walls all have heat storage capabilities. Generally, a brick-concrete structure is preferable for greenhouse walls.
