How to Quickly Resolve the Issue of Water Ingress in a Root Blower During Operation? Below, we provide a detailed explanation on what to do when a Root Blower gets water inside.
Treatment Methods for Roots Blowers After Water Ingress
One: Methods for dealing with Roots blower motors
Remove the motor from the base, open the front and rear covers of the motor, remove the rotor, and tighten all the end cover screws into the stator's end holes (to prevent the stator from damaging the windings when it stands up). Place the stator upright in the sun and expose both ends for 12 hours. Use a megohmmeter to measure the insulation resistance between the windings and the housing; it must not be less than 20 megohms. If it's not, continue exposing it to the sun until the standard is met.
Two: Roots Blower Main Unit Processing Method
Remove the oil return pipe from the base, drain the oil and water from the main unit and air chamber, remove the air filter, and rotate the fan belt wheel forwardly by hand for about 10 turns. Then, slowly pour 5 liters of 68 anti-wear hydraulic oil into the intake while continuously rotating the reversible fan belt wheel forwardly, to expel all the cleaning oil.
Section 3: Oil Tank Treatment for Roots Blowers
First, remove the oil gauge with a wrench, then take off the oil filter, tilt the base, and try to drain the used oil from the oil tank as much as possible. Meanwhile, clean the oil tank with new engine oil. Reinstall the oil filter, return line, and air filter. Fill the oil tank with engine oil to 3/4 capacity, and tighten the oil gauge securely (be sure to use a wrench to prevent leaks).
