Many events and issues involving the construction of eco-cities have occurred in our country, which are worthy of our close attention and deep reflection. We need to further summarize our experiences and lessons, and actively expand our ideas for building eco-cities. The construction of eco-cities is still "on the road." Simply developing a green transportation system for cities is not enough; we also need to address flood control and drainage systems. Gabion boxes are woven from steel wires with different levels of galvanization into hexagonal box-shaped mesh cages. Gabion boxes have a flexible, permeable, and integral structure. Not only do they have ecological functions, but by simply sprinkling some soil on the surface of the protective structure, the gaps between the stones are filled, accommodating soil and promoting plant growth, creating a favorable ecological environment. Gabion boxes can also be used on steep slopes and for the treatment of mudslides. The development of cities is filled with shortsighted actions that arbitrarily occupy river and lake waters, often expanding beyond flood control circles or into low-lying and prone-to-flooding areas. In such cases, we can utilize the advantages of gabion box retaining walls to resist the invasion of floods.
