Before the laying of steel-wire-reinforced polyethylene composite pipes, the excavation of the trench is an essential process. Only when the trench is properly dug can the pipeline laying work commence. Of course, the completion of the trench excavation must also meet relevant requirements.
When the diameter of steel wire mesh reinforced polyethylene composite pipe is dn≤500mm, the net width of the pipe on each side should not be less than 0.3m; when the diameter is dn≥500mm, the net width of the pipe on each side should not be less than 0.5m.
The trench slope can be determined based on factors such as the construction site environment, trench depth, groundwater level, soil conditions, construction equipment, and seasonal influences.
When excavating for steel wire mesh reinforced polyethylene composite pipes, the base level should be strictly controlled to avoid disturbing the original soil layer. The original soil layer above the design elevation by 0.15 to 0.20 meters should be manually cleared to the design elevation before laying the pipe. In case of over-excavation or disturbance, backfill with sand and stone materials with a maximum particle size less than 40mm should be used, and the area should be leveled and compacted to achieve 95% optimal density. It is strictly prohibited to use miscellaneous soil for backfill. If there are sharp and hard objects at the bottom of the trench, they must be removed and replaced with sand and stone backfill.
4. The bottom of the trench must not be submerged in water. Excavation should only be carried out after artificial water drainage measures have been implemented and the groundwater level has stabilized below the trench bottom.
