Teflon hoses are suitable for use in a wide range of demanding environments. Teflon is nearly resistant to all chemicals, except for a few strong oxidizers and reductants, and maintains its effectiveness as a hose within a temperature range of approximately -73℃ to 260℃. Its non-stick property, low friction coefficient, and moisture resistance make it ideal for many applications. It is also resistant to bending and vibration, and its performance remains unchanged over time.

Teflon hoses are typically composed of a PTFE inner tube or spiral lined with a jacket. Both ends are usually equipped with stainless steel quick connectors. The inner diameter ranges from 5mm to 200mm. These hoses are widely used in factories. For instance, at a steel mill in the United States, Teflon hoses serve as hydraulic hoses, high-pressure water pipes, and lubrication lines in flat die casting operations. There are nearly 300 hydraulic cylinders on the flat die casting production line, each equipped with two Teflon hoses. These hoses transport hydraulic fluid under a pressure of 93°C and 20.7 million pascals (207 bars). In the self-lubricating system of the flat die casting, lubricating oil at temperatures ranging from -29°C to 66°C is also pumped through Teflon hoses at a pressure of 10.35 million pascals.

In the chemical industry, large quantities of Teflon hoses are used to transport highly alkaline or highly corrosive chemicals. For instance, LCP Chemicals Company replaced copper-nickel alloy pipes with Teflon hoses five years ago, loading them into tanker trucks at -18°C. This extended the hose's lifespan by three times and also reduced costs. During the production of sodium hydroxide, mercury is transported through pipes via pumps at temperatures ranging from 77-102°C. The previous carbon steel pipes were not resistant to the corrosive effects of caustic soda at high temperatures, leading to rapid deterioration and leaks at joints due to thermal expansion and contraction. Replacing the carbon steel pipes with Teflon hoses that have a stainless steel wire braided sheath increased lifespan and safety, while also reducing maintenance costs.

In the transportation industry, Teflon hoses are widely used for compressor pipes, fluid transmission lines, cooling water pipes, oil gauge lines, and brake lines. The use of Teflon hoses as exhaust pipes for truck engines, measuring 250-500cm in length and 16cm in diameter, has a history of over 15 years. Softness is particularly important in this application. Copper pipes were used before the 1960s, but they would often need to be replaced several times throughout the truck's lifespan. In contrast, Teflon hoses with stainless steel wire braided sheaths have a lifespan similar to that of the truck, thereby reducing repair time and maintenance costs.

The non-stick properties of PTFE Teflon are highly beneficial for the transportation and blending of coatings. Moreover, PTFE is resistant to solvents used in coatings, making Teflon hoses a valuable application in the paint industry. With the advent of polyurethane coatings, the moisture resistance of Teflon hoses becomes crucial, as these coatings are sensitive to moisture and can prematurely cure with even a small amount of humidity. Using teflon hoses effectively prevents moisture from seeping in. Due to their flexibility and resistance to chlorinated and perchloroethylene-based solvents, some manufacturers use Teflon hoses as nozzles for industrial ultrasonic steam degreasers.
